What is addiction recovery?

This is battling the hardest battle you will ever fight; it’s living with a sort of demon inside you and that demon is trying to convince you with all its power to pick up that pipe again or that drink or that needle!

People who battle addiction recovery also must battle people’s reactions to them. People shun them because they don’t understand what addiction really is. People hear the word addict and they suddenly think the worst of that person. I often ask them what they would do if they were in the “addict's” shoes, and then I silently wait for answers.

In this book, you’ll see some of my own coping skills that I use daily like yoga, meditation, and exercise, and a lot of other coping skills in the 8 Dimensions of Wellness, because what works for me might not work for you and vice versa. You will learn why you made the choices you may have made when you learn about PTSD. You will also see at the end some testimonies from people currently in the battle of their lifetimes and if I say so myself kicking some serious butt! They relive a new life, some even in the field helping others battle their own addictions.
